Killer Cedar Plank Salmon Recipe
Enjoy, it has been a secret of mine for years.
Ingredients:
Cedar Plank soaked in water for 2 to 4 hours
Marinade:
1 Lb Fresh Pacific Salmon (Atlantic for our Yankee have nots)
2 T Soy Sauce
1 T Rice Wine or Balsamic Vinegar
1 t Dark Sesame Oil
Sauce:
3 T Hellmann's Mayonnaise
1 Shallot finely minced
1 Clove Garlic crushed
1 T Fresh Lemon Juice
1 T Fresh Chopped Rosemary
1 T Fresh Chopped Dill Weed
Misc
Morton's Natures Season
Olive Oil
Brown Sugar
Very hot covered charcoal grill
Method
1. Soak cedar plank, under water, in sink, 2 to 4 hours weighted down with a water filed glass
2. Make sauce while soaking cedar plank by mixing ingredients in a bowl and set in fridge until ready to use
3. Make marinade, place in plastic bag or glass non reactive dish and marinade 1 to 4 hours.
4. Prepare charcoal grill with hot fire. 3 second heat with hand over coals before OUCH. Or oven set to highest temp.You want charcoal grill folks to set cedar plank on fire and smoke.
5. Remove cedar plank from water, lightly towel dry, and coat one side with olive oil.
6. Remove salmon from marinade, towel dry, and place salmon on cedar plank skin side down on olive oil side of plank.
7. Season salmon with Morton's Nature Season and Brown Sugar.
8. Coat salmon fillet lightly or to taste with sauce.
9. Place salmon cedar plank directly over hot coals in charcoal grill.
10. Grill covered with lid on about 10 to 20 minutes depending on heat and fish thickness until done.
11. Evict all pets from area; especially cats.
12. Pig out and enjoy with grilled Asparagus and New Potatoes.
