Or use a good long-season pre-M and anticipate. Most of the time, I drop my Barricade in March, long before our standard forsythia bloom. Since I drop 6 months of protection at a time, that doesn't matter too much.

What application rate are you using for the Barricade to get 6 months protection? How much product per K? I too am all about jumping the gun with a pre-m, better safe than sorry if possible

You can use up to 1.5 tsp of Guardrail per thousand square feet per year, for about 8-9 months of protection. Or split-app it. I prefer to shoot a little low and split app myself.

I got my prodiamine(Guardrail). The manual says, if I am reading it correctly, max annual application amount for st. Augustine & Bermuda is 1.0-2.3lbs/acre OR 1 Tablespoon-2.25 tablespoons per 1000sqft. It also says for st Augustine 1st app should be no less than 1.0lbs/acre.
So what I am thinking is:
1st app - 1.0lb/acre OR 1TBSP/1ksqft
Then, 4 months later,
2nd app - 1.0lb/acre OR 1TBSP/1ksqft
That give me a total of 2.0lbs/acre for the year. A little shy of max. Split into 2 apps.
Does this sound right?
Thanks, Erik

Amounts sound good to me.
I wonder if you'd be better off with a little more time in between apps, though. Just to make sure you've got a year long barrier. Especially with your longer growing season.(Kinda assuming here. Not entirely familiar with Orlando, but thought it stayed a little warmer, longer.)
Just an example, your timing will probably vary a little from central Arkansas. My first app goes down at the end of February/first of March. This is when the forsythia bloom around here. Second app is mid-September, or thereabouts.
Just a thought. The more experience folk should be along soon.
