That's a grass. Hit it with roundup. Try to minimize overspray or use a piece of cardboard to shield the grass but your bermuda should be safe regardless. If you're concerned about the nuclear option, wait for someone else to confirm!

I'm going to go look in my yard (neighbor's yard) for some nutsedge.

Thanks not that it matters but what kind of grass and how in the hell did it get in my yard? I have never seen it before this fall.

Zeke, you will go insane quickly if you spend your time concerning yourself with questions like that. It could come from 1000 different places/methods. Kill it and move on to the next challenge. Your lawn is part of nature and subject to all of the vagaries of nature - you cannot view it as a closed system ("my yard") that you are the Lord and Master of.

Here it is in the ground. Note that the leaves of a sedge are arranged in 3's. Click here for more information

*That is actually green kyllinga in my pics, but its also a sedge and has the same defining characteristics mentioned above. I just photographed it because it is bigger and easier to see what I'm talking about.

I would consider the possibility of garden gnomes. I took some pictures and will post them later.

Andy's right to not worry about it. If I'm wrong and it's sedge, roundup will still kill it and your grass is dormant enough now that it will be safe.

I looked up the Sedgehammer's info. The summary is that it can take 3-4 weeks to have the sedge dead. It's still something to keep in your bag for summer, as we've all seen the results of spraying roundup on a turfgrass in the summer- dead stolons for miles.
