More Soil Test

Postby Vince92183 » January 18th, 2012, 5:33 pm

So two more soil test. These are the two test plots we will be working with.

One will be fertilized with fish fertilizer, compost, and compost tea. The other will be using Starbucks from the campus, soil conditioner, and kelp help.

They are both around 3500 square feet.

There are no glaring issues here, and I'm pretty happy with everything except the pH and organic matter percentages.

pH you can't do much about, so forget it. The OM percentage will rise with coffee grounds, but the fish stuff won't do much to it.

That's exactly what I'm trying to prove. Unfortunately I cannot use something like soybean meal to prove my point, so coffee will have to do.

I agree with Morph about the pH - there isn't much you can do but work with it.

I'm not at all thrilled about those Sodium numbers, however. With a dry climate like your's, you need to make sure that your irrigation water isn't going through any softening equipment.
