Nothing here yet, but expected shortly. The Winter Storm Warning says 10"-14", but since it is expected to be elevation-enhanced, I'm thinking that my location (a valley between the mountains) may be lower.

Did you ever speak just minutes too soon? Yeah. With that the temperature dropped a degree very quickly and it started to change over. It's mixed snow and rain now.

Similarly, being in a nice valley, I expect lower amounts than the surrounding mountains.

Yeah. I'm close to the rain/snow line here. North and west of Philly is expected to change to all snow. But they're undecided about my section of Pa.

On a positive note, I turned the backyard flood lights on last night and put down a dose of urea about 10 p.m. to take advantage of the precipitation. (I figured the neighbors already think I'm a nut, so why not give them something to talk about. lol). Maybe I should rig up headlights on my spreader.

Yeah, I dropped Milo yesterday after I got the tropical dug out and stored. I figured the rain would move the iron in, at least, and the normalizing temperatures later on would give me some decay time at least.

This also required outside floods by the time I got to the back. But again, my neighbors also think I'm nuts...

Don't be crazy. Headlights only go onto mowers.

I was splitting wood last night by the headlights of the car.

check out mountain bike lights - they are super bright, last 3-6hrs on onecharge, and are made to attach easily to handlebars...just sayin'.

My sister, who lives in York County, says it's already starting to accumulate there. She says they're expecting 4-to-8 inches there.

That's a durned good idea. Fortunately, my fertilizing in the dark is rare.

And we're changing over now. It's actually kind of coming down pretty heavily, but nothing's sticking even on the grass. Surfaces are still too warm, which may save our butts for this storm.

The lawn is white. The gardens are white (but still blooming as the wind blows the snow off). The street is getting white.

Beginning to stick here. (mulch beds are covered). Jon, I think the rain/snow line was predicted to fall somewhere between your place and mine.

We have had a tad over 3.0 inches of snow so far and some rain too, none sticking to the roads,a little on the grass......rain gauge shows 1.1 inches of total water so far- a nice slow deep soaking that should be good for 2-3 weeks worth of watering needs this time of year.Time to pack away the hoses for the season I guess.
