Im in the Maryland (mid-Atlantic) and just got another 3.1 inches of rain this past Wednesday. That on top of what has already been a lot of rain since the end of August. Sure wish we could bottle up some and send it to our friends not getting any rain around the country.

I wish they had a map to look at precipitation in general (compared to the norm). We are way, way over in NE Ohio and I wonder what parts of the country has had it similarly.

We are definitely way over here. Not sure by how may inches. Was very dry the first part of summer, but after the hurricane blew through at the end of August, followed by Tropical Storm Lee which sort of stalled and hovered over the area, we went WAY over the average. We've had a few good soaking since then. The 3.1" of rain we got on Wednesday was the most rainfall at National Airport for December since they've been keeping records.

In the New York area, we now have the second wettest year ever since they started keeping records.

I'm not complaining as it certainly saved on the water bill. But when you hear about places like parts of Texas that hadn't seen a drop of water in months, it makes you feel rather guilty that you can't share your good fortune and rain.

Yeah, there should be a color on the map for "Enough Already." I'd be in that area. :-)

While overages of water count toward filling reservoirs, they're not particularly valuable for natural lawn irrigation. If the water falls too quickly or beyond the soil's ability to absorb it, it's runoff and lost. That was alot of this year's pattern here - too much all at once, but not timed well enough to avoid the need for summer irrigation.

That all said, we're a little over 60" of precipitation. That's a lot...

Nice find!
The year to date pic is pretty cool.
I'm in the "had way more than needed" color. Cleveland broke its record for yearly rainfall back on October 19. We're just over 60" now too. Our average is usually just under an inch per week.
