Having lived near Buffalo, I remember Lake Effect storms very well. Now I don't have them where I am, but I'd take Lake Effect over Nor'easters any day. Snow that weighs a ton per sq ft sucks.

Come on snow!!!
I'm dying to have a good reason to get outside and play for a while.
The sledding hill is calling my name!
Lake Effect Snow watch Sunday eve thru Tuesday eve.
May bring a foot or more.

Re: First Lake effect snows of the winter coming my way
It looks like winter is about to hit us here in the south this week. Goodbye warm winter. Lows dipping down to the teens Tuesday with wind chill around 10. Brrrrr. Then slowly moving back up to normal winter temp's here. Lows ~32 with highs upper 40's. Guess this lawn is finaly going to go to sleep for the winter.

Yeah, it's over. Tuesday's weather here is a high of 22 and a low of 11 with a wind of 25 mph. And snow showers. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.

Re: First Lake effect snows of the winter coming my way
Very nice. I'm currently clocking 54 degrees in the garden and still warming slowly. Tuesday's high is 27, low of 12, which might be enough to force my lawn into dormancy.
