Here begins my lawn renovation. I currently have "I have no idea what it is" grass along with plenty of crabgrass and the like. Currently I am planning on doing 100% Lesco Double Eagle Perennial Ryegrass. Grass species is subject to change without notice.
I am having my back yard scraped and graded. I had several trees taken out a few years ago, and the place is just a mess when it comes to the lawn. Large depressions, and not much grass. With an almost-2-year-old running around, he needs a nice yard to play in
The front yard I am planning on Round-Uping it. I think I am only going to do the section directly in front of my house. I will leave the curb area and the side of my house, which a decent size, for spring or next fall. I just don't have confidence that I will be able to keep everything hydrated if I do it all at once.
I've already begun on an area in the front corner. Below is a picture about 2 weeks after applying roundup. I just raked and mowed. I originally wasn't planning on doing this to the whole front, just the front corner because it was some weird grass that was dead most of the year. Only greened when it was hot.. I guess it could be zoysia or something. Anyway I decided to do the whole front section so I will be eradicating that this weekend.
Here are pics of the front yard with roundup applied to a section. And the crabgrass infested backyard.
