Discuss how to and whether you should renovate your lawn

Looks amazing!!! Your wife must be thrilled that she gave you the green light to do this, huh.

I am in the same boat as you in that I am transforming my soil so that the new lawn can have a healthy base. Without decent soil, forget about an elite lawn. Since I started the renovation process at the end of July, I have dropped 172lbs of Milorganite/K, which equals 8.6lbs of N (organic)....Synthetic-wise, I have put down 3.5lb N/k since I dropped the seed in August. I still have my winterizer waiting to be dropped as well. Would I do this in late spring or summer, heck no, but these new lawns need as much feeding and energy that they can get so it can survive the winter.

The results that have been demonstrated by our BL members don't lie. I have never seen any lawns in my life as beautiful as the ones here. They must be onto something.

You aren't so new to this anymore. Terrific. Curious, who maintains that circle?

For the first few years (when I was young) I weeded it, but since then the association has a landscaper mulch it and flower it for the spring/summer. The big wreckage tandem trucks that came by to pick up storm debris tore them up pretty bad. We also get tractor trailers trying to maneuver their way around at least once a summer.

I still take care of mine but have it pretty low maintenance now. I also irrigate it. Very similar to what you have. For what its worth knock-out shrub roses seem to love a circle like that.
