Fertilization for Over Seeding

Postby grassboro » August 31st, 2011, 6:34 pm

I have a question regarding fertilization where I will be lightly overseeding and fixing some bare patches in my lawn. I have only applied organics this year to my 2500 sqft lawn. Beginning the 1st of March I have applied either 1 bag of milorganite or a 50 lb bag of Alfalfa pellets each month. In addition to my Aug 1st milogarnite I added about 15 lbs of Alfalfa pellets, 2 weeks later 50 lbs cracked corn and last week 50 lbs of SBM. I did this in anticipation of the increased Sept feeding needs. My question is, in addition to dropping a bag of milorganite the 1st Sept. would it be beneficial to the overseed to either apply additional organics or a light (1/4 to 1/2 lb per 1000 sqft) synthetic application. Or have I done enough with my extra organics in Aug.
