Why Didn't I Think of THIS?!?!?!?!?!?
Argggggh! I know lots about DMSO, and never put two and two together.
DMSO, an organic solvent that was used in the 1980's as a "folk-treatment" for Arthritis, can be used by us to deliver bitter things like pepper powder INTO perennials instead of just topically treating them and having it washed off by rain. Geez!!! How simple!

I wonder how well bitter apple or cayenne pepper or raccoon pee smell would trans-locate through a cherry tree into the cherries? Bleah!

Like the article says, this is NOT for edible plants.
You can ABSOLUTELY bet I'll be looking into this with my gazillion Hostas. I can see the Deer protesting now...

Or... you may find that the flavor of Tabasco hostas are almost as delicious as Acorns and Oak leaves.....
