Ground cover
I am looking for a ground cover that does well in sand? I have a sand hill and I would like to use a ground cover on it. It is a very steep hill and is about 150' wide be 20'-25' tall. I have sprinklers on it so water is not a problem. I will would like to put trees on it too.
So if you got some ideas I would love it!!

Justin:
With that much space it is almost certain that someone will recommend low-cost Ajuga. Don't do it! It is a bad invader of the lawn. Before you pick anything, research that it does not invade the lawn.

Re: Ground cover
check out High Country Gardens online. They have lots of plants, including ground covers and shrubs, that would do very well in sandy soil. Remember, even low water usage plants need to be watered the first year until they've had time to establish. After that, they should do fine unless you experience an extended drought along with high heat. You might even check to see if Utah has a native plant society. Most states do these days and they will usually have lists of native shrubs, trees and ground covers that will do well in your area.
+1 Andy on the Ajuga. There are lots of others you will want to stay away from as well. Read the plant labels and/or descriptions and do additional research on anything described as vigorous, aggressive or prolific self seeder.

How about some nice Ajuga?
Mostly because I'd love for you to have the same issue I did with the stuff.
Yellow archangel is another one that seeds easily and spreads like mad. Avoid it unless you have an area where you can let it go to town.

Or, just avoid it all together - much safer for you and your neighbors!
