Cannas and Dahlia planted!
Yes, it's early, but later than last year when I did it on April 8th. They can take a light frost if they haven't sprouted yet (and even if they have), and they'll be sprouting in about two weeks or so--just in time for nice weather.
With all the splitting I had to do last year (I couldn't lift the tubers any longer), I put in 7 red and yellow (how many of each? I'll find out) cannas, six Lucifer cannas, and one Sky Angel dinnerplate dahlia.
While I was at it, I put the passion flower in the tree garden and planted the Jackmanii clematis I've been rooting over the winter.
