Natures magic at 2oz plus...

Postby appalachianturf » September 6th, 2010, 10:47 pm

I have read all the threads on here about home made natures magic and aerify however my feelings are with prices I will make the aerify but purchase the natures magic. When I read the label on NM that said add 2-4oz plus water I couldnt help but to think why not just add worm castings tea and some yucca too!...? Andy, Eric, anyone that knows? comments? I got to try it

Worm casting tea---go right ahead! No worries there.

Yucca does have its limits on what you should apply, so definitely meter it down to about a tenth of an ounce per thousand square feet.

Why so low on the rate per thousand?

The Yuccah I got from Lesco which contains:
Yucca schidigera plant extract . . 90%
Copolymerized alkane oxides (non-ionic surfactant) . . 10%

says to use 6oz. with 100 gallons of water per thousand on established lawns and 3oz. with 25-50 gallons of water per thousand at seeding.

You can go much higher if you like...but you don't have to. I can't off hand remember or find the maximum levels of yucca that are acceptable, but 6 per thousand is pushing the top.

Whew! That's good.
I've been doing a half ounce per K every couple of weeks and when I read your post about 1/10 ounce I just wanted to be sure I wasn't doing more harm than good.
