Compost Tea at "Whole Foods"

Postby andy10917 » September 22nd, 2011, 9:28 am

It may be something that I've just missed in the past, or it may be a store-by-store thing, but an outside display at Whole Foods here in Mt Laurel, NJ had a "Compost Tea" setup going. While I couldn't open the container and check out the details, the proper external equipment (aerator/circulator) was attached and appeared to be in working order.

Anyone know anything about whether the store-bought stuff is viable run by people that probably don't know enough about it to do this perfectly?

Well if Whole Foods is anything like the ones out here, you will be paying a huge premium.

I wouldn't ever buy it - I know how to make it right. But for friends, it might be OK if it's viable.

If I remember, they were selling it for $3.99 a gallon.

Interesting. That Mt Laurel whole foods is the closest one to me. I might check it out as I don't feel like making my own :)

There was a site called eastcoastorganics.com that said their product could be bought at whole foods....must be the same product. Website is down, not sure if its temporary or not.
