Well, we rent, and I still care about what is clearly someone else's lawn - so in my book you ain't crazy... (but consider the source)

The way I see it, I will just continue my cycle of care from one place to the next when we buy next summer. It may or may not entail a renovation, but the new challenge will be fun.

Lol. I've got friends in the Metuchen PD, I'll have them put out an all points bulletin for you. ;)

A realtor splitting his commission with a parent company gets even less- further increasing his incentive to move volume at lower prices.

I think that the threshold of being a lawn nut is simply creating an account here at BL. There's that thin green line.

Temperature hit 63 here today. I didn't cut the backyard last week (too wet) so I did my final cut of the year and this place's first of 2012. I'm not sure why, but that makes me feel somewhat better about selling it. lol

Best of luck with relocating to Metuchen. Beautiful area. Especially love Main Street (road right off 1/287) with all of the huge trees lining the road on both sides. Beautiful in the autumn.

Speaking of a lawn nut. In between taking down Christmas lights yesterday, I could not help myself so I put down an iron application. How often will it be 65 degrees in January

Yeah. I love the town. The trees are going to be my biggest problem. There are so many yards that are full shade that I'm going to have to be very picky about choosing a house. What makes things harder is the borough has an ordinance making any tree within 20 feet of the street a borough tree. That means I can't cut it down. ($10,000 fine for violators).

I agree about main street. It's great to be able to walk to everything. I have friends there who put less than a mile a week on their cars.

There's very little crime (bicycle thefts mostly) and the schools are very, very good. Best of all, you can hop on a train and be in Midtown Manhattan in about 35 minutes.

I'm on one of those tree-lined country roads that you're discussing (obviously not in Metuchen), and the trees on the road are at the southern end of the property, meaning that they block the sun. You learn to handle it OK, but there are lots of things to learn.
