Grass north of a 3 story high wall
I've been repairing my mutt 'lawn' over the last several months, and it is looking much nicer. Much less broadleaf weeds and more refined 'fancy cultivar' grass where the repairs were made.
Moving on to the areas where this project snowballed out of control and will travel to, I am kind of torn on what sort of grass I should be trying to grow on the lawn that is located on the North side of a 3 story high wall. This will get full sun in the Spring/Early Summer, but once the sun moves South late Summer/Fall...it becomes full shade. So I'm confused if this is full sun, or full shade.
Last month I did some dormant seeding of that area for next Spring, and prior to doing that, I discovered that the 'grass' that was about 5 feet out from the wall was most likely Poa Trivialis. It was rather interesting rolling it up like it was some astroturf and tossing it in the garbage can, lol. Got some nice bare soil there now
.
So right now I have a dormant seeding in that area of some TTTF (3rd Millenium), and for good measure a really healthy dose of some Midnight KBG (I love the color of the stuff I put elsewhere last Fall).
But somehow lately I've been thinking, with the wildly changing lighting conditions...should try for some fine fescue in that area? Basically I want lawn-type grasses growing there, and that grass pressuring any attempts of broadleaf weeds to take over. I'm just wondering what grass would be best?
You guys think that Midnight will do well there only getting full sun early in the year and getting full shade in the end? Is that a possible TTTF type of area, or should I really be looking at the fine fescues?

Moonlight slt is good for full sun and also shade. I think there is a few more that would work also.

Forgot to add...I also have some Bewitched spread there too for a nice Buffet 'O Seeds. My testing of it says that particular batch I got would be a minor player though, due to somewhat lousy germination compared to the others I'm using. I'd definately love to have KBG self-repairing lawn there, but wonder if the lack of late Summer/Fall light might wipe it out.
