Franklinia in bloom

Postby glenforest » August 15th, 2011, 10:28 pm

The Franklinia just started to bloom this week.

I lost the Franklinia I had in the back during this past winter, and this one in the front was slow to start this spring. I suspect they were both affected by the cold weather; we got down to -7 F one night as I recall.

I'm glad this one survived. I like having a tree that flowers late in the season like this, and the Franklinia has a great story to tell about.
