Half flower
Our azaleas this year only produced flowers from half of the group. The only feeding they have received was from cleaning out the coffee buckets. I think the total sun and water amount is about the same.
The other strange thing is that a month ago the left ones started to bloom and flower while the right side started to lose it's leaves like normal.
Why would this happen?

Re: Half flower
That's just weird and I have no idea, actually...
Azaleas aren't particularly heavy feeders, so that was fine. I used to toss some Milorganite on mine (they were short-lifespan azaleas), but that's about it.
Did you have really weird spring and fall weather this year?

Re: Half flower
They look like different types. Are the flowers the same color or different?

The two colors are pink and red. I did look at the leaves closely, I'm pretty sure they are all the same kind.
Admittedly I know nothing about flowers except that when a guy buys them for a girl good things happen.
So, with these azaleas, my goal is to water-feed and maybe even take a soil test from the bedding area.-

Re: Half flower
Different colors might be a different plant. There are different types out but I am not sure how old yours are. I just seen a new type that should bloom 4 times a year. Not as heavy like in the spring but they do get a few flowers on them as the seasons change. That would be my guess.

Re: Half flower
Could be. Most azaleas are spring-blooming, Encore are re-bloomers and gaining in popularity. They still bloom in spring, but rebloom in fall.
