Crocus alert
So, I walked over to Bartholdi Park at the US Botanic Gardens today for lunch and was surprised to see these cheery little guys quite so early. I guess with whacky weather we've been having here, I shouldn't be - but I was.
I know crocus are early birds, but I don't think I've ever seen them quite this early before. I hope this means we're going to have an early spring!

Yeah, I walked to the mailbox today and I have winter irises, crocus, and a few random daffodils starting to sprout. In January. In Pennsylvania.
It's actually likely to be an AWFUL spring here as we're going to get a cold shot at some point. We risk losing most of the early spring flowers...

A girl can hope, can't she? I know, my irises keep getting taller and taller. I haven't been up to check my one little clump of crocus like things (I actually think they are some type of dwarf tulip) to see if they are starting to come up. I know we are likely to get slammed, but am still hoping that it's at least brief.
