Which spreader would you buy
Been looking around for a good spreader at a decent price....Read some good talk on here about the Earthway 2150. But while looking around I found the Spyker P20-500BH. They seem to be the exact same spreader with the Spyker being $20 cheaper. I'm leaning towards the Spyker as I have used my shop's Spyker S60-9020 and really like it...
Which one to get, which one to get????
Thanks for any input...

Truthfully? I have a Scott's EdgeGuard and absolutely love the thing. Problem free year 3 so far, nicely sized for my 7,000 square feet of lawn.

I might have to go take a look at one this weekend .....I borrowed the shop's Lesco for the Milo drop this weekend so I am in no rush

Available reasonably inexpensively at any big box store, but try to get the one with the larger hopper (mine can take about 0.6 bags of soy or 0.75 bags of Milorganite with no problems). For somebody my size, that's a comfortable weight.
Others have reported that the spinner wears out. I had that issue with my old Scott's spreader after it had moved about 10,000 pounds of material. I refuse to complain about that, it deserved retirement and I'd fixed the spinner twice myself. Eventually it completely shattered.

Re: Which spreader would you buy
I purchased the Earthway 2150 a couple of months ago. The spreader settings seem coarse, but I'm usually putting down organics, so the lack of fine control doesn't bother me. I can dump a lot of product in a short time and the spreader can handle the bumps from shallow roots, etc. Sizewise, my Scotts rotary spreader worked fine here at the house, but the frame got tweaked from hitting the roots with a hopper full of grains. I don't have that concern with the Earthway, and it makes working on the larger church property a lot easier.
One complaint. I daydream a lot while I'm walking the lawns behind a mower or spreader. The Earthway has significantly reduced my daydreaming time.

I have heard nothing but great things about the Earthway. I have a chepo scotts its 3 years old now. It has had thousands of lbs threw it. I only have 1300 sqft so i don't need a big spreader.

still using a Scotts Basic I got at a garage sale for $5. I'll buy a 2150 one day, off of craigslist most likely.

I always forget about craigslist...I'll check there to see what I can find.
I have a 7,500 sqft front yard and a 9,200sqft back yard and neither are putting green smooth, so I want one that will be easy to push and handle some abuse.

Then no matter which brand you ultimately go with, make sure it has big pneumatic tires. They laugh at bumps and roots my old Edgeguard would have trouble with.

WTH??? The Spyker P20-500BH looks exactly like the Earthway 2150!!! I have a feeling Brinly makes the spreader for Earthway, Spyker and John Deere. No matter what the name, it is a great spreader.

And it was cheaper than the Earthway

Yup, very sweet deal! Congrats! Instead of the instructions that came with my JD version, I print out the Earthway eve-n-spread settings. Works perfectly although I tend to put it 1 notch lower than what the settings turn come out to be.

Re: Which spreader would you buy
I plan to buy a Lesco brand one with a 50lb hopper for about $180. I like to be able to try these things out before I buy and there's no way to do that with the Earthway. I hate my scotts and cant wait to kick it to the curb.
