Self Propelling Push Mower??
Any good recommendations?
The 4 year old Cub Cadet has seen better days, I am thinking of upgrading this Fall, when they go on end of season clearance.
My brother has a John Deere, I wasn't a fan of it either.

Toro or Honda are fan favorites here.

Honda if you can afford it. Otherwise Toro is good for mulching, but the bagging leaves a bit to be desired. There is a pretty big thread on mowers here: Click here for more information

I love my Honda enough that I always mow the front yard with it, and sometimes the entire acre. Even though I have a fairly new lawn tractor.

Andy, you have a LT? From your posts I thought you only had the Honda. What LT do you have? Why both?

I got the Honda from HD 499 self propelled one, couldnt afford the fancier one it was 799. I have no complaints yet. I have had it for 2 years and run it through some thick weeds on the other side of my fence and sharpen the blade and it keeps on keeping on. Deff worth the money
Thanks in Advance,

Yeah. I use it on the backyard sometimes if I'm tight on time. It's the highest-end Craftsman that has the manual transmission. I blew up an automatic transmission tractor hauling stuff on the hill. Now I barely use it because I never core-aerate or dethatch anymore. It hauls peat moss. compost and mulch to staging spots. All the nutrients are applied with a vanilla Scott's EdgeGuard.

Re: Self Propelling Push Mower??
I picked up a Honda at HD that someone returned. I got it for a discount plus a 10% off Lowe's coupon on top of that. They let me take it over to the rental area and gas it up and run it in the parking lot for a bit before taking it home to see how it ran. It had some issues starting it seemed, but I cleaned it up, changed the oil, and replaced the air filter and it starts on the first pull pretty much every time now. I have had it for about 2 years now with absolutely no problems. You can get some decent deals checking the refurb/returns at HD. I have a Craftsman rider now also, but I find myself going back to the Honda push for the quality of cut even though it takes longer.
Can't go wrong with a Toro either. My dad had his for about 20 years before it bit the big one. The big box store ones don't seem to be built as well built as the dealer Super Recycler or Super Bagger though.
