Scotts Snap Lawn Care System

I was at the local Home Depot last weekend and noticed Scotts new spreader. What are your thoughts?

Looks good for small lawns. I think it'll be a hard sell though unless you are in the market for a new spreader and are exclusively a Scotts user.

You get a 12.5 lb bag of 25-0-4 for $19 at lowes, I can't think of the formula right now to convert it but somehow I doubt you will come out ahead on this system, you are paying a premium for the "convenience" of the whole thing!!!

Probably because you would never think of selling some inferior product that doesn't really do anything special and charge extra for it!!! :D

Assuming your numbers are accurate, that comes out to $6.08 for every pound of nitrogen. A bag of Scotts Turfbuilder would come out to $2.66 per pound of nitrogen. That better be a damn good spreader.

I don't see the point. It sounds like it belongs on an infomercial, because the target audience is the same group of people who can't cut things with regular scissors / knives or clean up messes with towels / sponges / mops etc.

I kind of resemble that remark. I'm not allowed knives since the Great Knife Accident of 2004 that had me hand-locked for several weeks.

But even I don't see the point. Using a broadcast spreader simply isn't that hard, and I'm not locked down to using the Scotts products that fit the Snap system. This is good; I don't use Scotts products.

Ah yes, as I recall it was but a simple paring knife! Blasted things
