Scott's Customer Service
I have a Scott's Edgeguard Deluxe spreader and the agitator inside the hopper broke. A new spreader is not in the budget at the moment so I called Scott's Customer service. They are sending the part out free of charge, no questions asked. I can't complain about that type of customer service. Almost makes me want to be a Scott's loyalist (not).

Hmmm - I had the "gate" that controls the nutrient flow refuse to open after a winter in the barn. 8 months old. OK, so 5 billion pounds of M went through the gate in those 8 months, but I suspect a phone call is in my future...

Hey, for all we're down on some of their lawn products, they do produce decent tools at a decent price and stand behind them. They replaced the spinner three times for free in my last model.
They probably would have done it a fourth time, but I felt too guilty to call and bought a new one instead. Besides, I wanted the EdgeGuard.

Re: Scott's Customer Service
I just found this older thread and thought I would add my 2 cents.
I bought a Scotts Edgeguard last fall and used it only once or twice. This year it stopped working only after the second time I used it. I'm not really sure what happened, however, any time I put product inside of the hopper, the wheels were almost impossible to spin. The weight did something??
However, I called Scotts to take advantage of their No Quibble Guarantee. I did not have any issues getting my money back at all. Life was easy for me b/c I had the receipt, however, if I didn't the girl said that I could have sent in a small part off of the spreader as proof of purchase.
I just received my new spreader from Amazon today. I chose a Spyker P20-500BH. It's the same as the JD Spreader sold at your local big box hardware store in the fall and Earthway's 2150, only a bit less expensive. The difference between this and the Scotts Edgeguard seem to be night and day. I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet, however, I do plan to put down some lime later this week. I have no doubt it will be a pleasant experience.
Yes I said spreading lime on the lawn will be a pleasant experience. What would my 16 year old self say??

I have a Spyker. Very nice spreaders and the large wheels make a huge difference in how they push. I can load mine up with 100 lbs of grains and it is still easier to push than my old Scott's broadcast spreader. I fully expect mine to outlast me.
