Re: Santa Rules!
Reminds of the frat house with the indoor beer plumbing. Three faucet handles per sink: hot water, cold water, and beer. What more do you need? Still trying to figure out why they needed that in the shower though.
Lawn mower in the living room? Sounds like a good idea to me! Next, renovate that unsightly carpet with a plush KBG "floorcovering."

Andy, have you actually tried it out yet? I am interested in seeing how fast the Honda can go with self-propelled. Typically, I hate self-propel because they are either not fast enough for my back yard walking pace or I am fighting against them when turning or something similar...... so I have always preferred a push type. My Craftsman of about 6 years is showing some age, especially in the wobbly wheel areas (which is a good excuse for purchasing something new) so I have been keeping an eye on the Hondas and Toros as possible candidates.

Nope. The last of the snow just melted last Friday. And "Emblem" is a notorious late riser. And the forecast for tonight and tomorrow morning is "SNOW". Geez.

Mini--You should let your husband know that the basement is probably a better spot because it's cooler (and cooler brewing temps are usually better). If you don't have a basement, the living room makes sense.

No basements in Texas, unfortunately. The living room it is...

This is why I love my Toro personal pace. It adjusts it's speed continuously according to how much pressure you apply to the handle bar. If you stop walking / applying pressure, it stops as well. Makes the turns a breeze!

Finally got the Honda out for a test spin yesterday. No real mowing per se, just some leaf litter cleanup.
The self-propelled speeds are fine. The Honda has a "paddle system" on the handle, and I didn't experience any of the "thumb weariness" that I've heard others mention - even though I did an acre of mowing. The speeds vary easily from "snail race" to "move fast enough that the Poa you're passing is a blur" (I like that speed for the obvious reason).
It took 10 minutes to get used to the paddles when turning and corners. It's easy to forget that you're in self-propelled mode and pull backward while still engaged (all right, so I'm Polish). I eventually made two passes around the edge of the yard, and turning became a non-issue.
I spent a few minutes feeling a bit IQ-challenged at the beginning looking for such items as the throttle, the priming bulb, and the cutoff switch. They don't exist.
Starting is the easiest I've ever experienced. My son and I turned it into game of "how slowly or weakly can I pull the starter rope and still have it start". I'm not kidding when I say we were surprised at how little effort it took - an eight-year-old or an 80-year-old would succeed.
For noise, I'd say it's quieter than 80% of the other mowers - not the quietest I've ever seen but perfectly acceptable.
It had none of the problems that I've seen with some other mulching mowers of blowing too much material left or right instead of really mulching them.

Not sure if you figured it out, but if you have the throttle all the way forward you can use the black "engage" bar to speed up/slow down; think of the orange paddle as a governor for the maximum speed (took me a week or two until I figured that out).

I love my Honda. Hydrostatictransmission, the mower feels like it's on rubber mounts and doesn't vibrate at all, the deck makes it relatively light, cut is superb and Its a real joy to cut with
