Fiskar Momentum grass bag
Does anyone actually have one of these bags? I cannot seem to buy one anywhere without an indefinite backorder situation.

Re: Fiskar Momentum grass bag
why would one even Want one? It is better to leave the clippings in the lawn to add a bit of nutrients and organic matter back to the soil. I own the Fiskars {and love it} but could not imagine how clumsy the mower would be to operate with a bag attached to the front of the mower

NO. I think you will find most here are educated enough to actually want the clippings left on the lawn......

Really, it kind of depends. If you have a turf disease, or a severe weed problem that spreads by seed, or P. trivailis, then no--remove the clippings and discard until the problem is solved.
I've also found that reel mowers have larger clippings, which is why I don't use mine. At my normal rate of growth, I'd need to mow daily to keep clipping size down, and they tend to make big clumps on the lawn. Slower growing lawns, or thinner ones, wouldn't have this issue.
I totally agree it's best to leave the clippings if possible, they contain a ton of nutrients and organic material, but sometimes it's simply not possible.

I think that was a bit much.
I do not have the bag you are talking about. I have a Scotts reel
mower with a bagger. For me you have to push the mower to fast to get the clippings in the bag. So for me I threw the bagger away. I just use my other mower when bagging.

Simpson...thank you for sharing your experience with bagging. I am concerned that the Fiskar mower may not effectively throw the clippings into the bag. I heard that other mower didn't get it right and you have confirmed that the bagging thing isn't perfect. I am still hoping to hear from a Fiskar owner who uses the bag. My hope is that this newly designed machine may have finally conquered the bagging problem.
In response to HanLawn.....dude, what's your problem? Is acting civilized so unknown to you? Why do you immediately assume I don't know about the benefits of clippings as organic feeding? An "educated" person would want to know more about a situation before taking such a unnecessary and offensive shot at someone they don't even know. Secondly, I wasn't asking about clippings. I was asking for other people's direct experiences with Fiskars bag not if bagging was good or bad. Is it possible that there are times when I cut my lawn that I would prefer to bag? For example, when I am unable for whatever reason to cut the lawn and the grass get taller than normal, I may want to catch the clippings bec taller clippings clump and don't leave the lawn looking as good as I like. For those instances I want to bag. You really need to calm down and get off your high horse.

Re: Fiskar Momentum grass bag
I don't own the Fiskars, but do own a push reel mower. If I wanted to bag my clippings, I think I'd just try to borrow a power reel mower from someone and bag with that. If I couldn't find someone to loan me a power reel mower, I think I'd settle for a rotary mower, and bag the clippings. If you're just trying to cut a lawn you let get a little too long, I think this would work OK. You could run through it with the rotary, bag the clippings, then go over it at a slightly lower height with your push reel and leave those small clippings on the ground. You get the finish of a reel mower cut, you get some of the grass clippings back onto the ground, and you bag the long stuff. Of course, you have to mow twice for this.

I did a little digging, only found 2 sites that appear in stock. The first website has a review already, but I would call to be double sure.

I picked up a nice little reel mower at a yard sale last year but haven't been able to use it this year due to all the poa annua
I have been bagging with a push mower since spring

Thanks d16daily. I did check those sites and I believe they are still in backorder. I appreciate your links though. Good luck with the bluegrass. I hear it is a problem but I have yet to run into any.
As for the Fiskar grass bag (which was the only question for this thread), I most conclude that no one has one. I suppose I will wait on the backorder list. When I get the bag I will report back as to if it actual works or not.
