Fimco Battery Sprayer LG-8-P Review
I've seen a lot of well-designed products in my life.
This isn't one of them. Overall Grade: F. Would I Recommend: No.
The tank arrived with a crack in it at the base, and leaked at about a quart per minute. Obviously this wasn't vetted for quality at the factory.
The battery arrived fully discharged, which will shorten its life considerably. This is more likely improper storage by the seller.
The coiled hose tangles easily, requiring constant untangling. The hose is stiff enough that this is difficult, and the supposed 15' range is more like 6' before the sprayer stars to tip over from the stiff, immobile hose tugging at it. Proper positioning of the spray handle is also difficult due to the stiffness of the hose.
The spray pattern is extremely poor with the included tip. I get better spray pattern from the $8 Home Depot model.
All things considered, give this a wide pass and try another model.

Let me see if I have this right: it has a lousy tip, but leaks at 1 Qt/Minute.
You don't need the tip. Just walk around the area you want to cover with 1 gallon for 4 minutes.
Glad I could help. You're welcome!!!

Wag.
Yes, if I wanted my kelp and humic acid solution on a dripping line down the lawn, that would work fine.

That's a real shame. Looked good in the picture and on paper. Can you return the thing for a refund?

I'm pretty sure so. I have call in to the company (they were closed by the time I called this evening). If they won't do it (and on a defect they sure should), it should be covered under Amazon's A-Z Guarantee.
For a defective product, my credit card company would also have something to say about that.

That's one of the things I love about Amazon. I pretty much try getting all my stuff there if I can. After my trial of Amazon Prime ends, I plan on buying the membership.

Ditto on anything like this--as long as they process the payment, they'll extend the guarantee.
For things like iron sulfate, eBay is just fine.

Bag the motorized sprayers, I'm going to try this. Cheap, does powder, and worst-case I can make a dense liquid and spray it that way. Since my Ortho died (again, I hate those things), I need a decent hose-end sprayer anyway.

They could not have been nicer about this if they tried. Since I ordered it through a supplier, they sent me to the manufacturer. There's some minor confusion on who's going to credit whom, but they're going to call me back on that.

Excellent! Someone needs to invent a CO2 powered backpack sprayer...just hook up a little CO2 cartridge like they make for paintball guns. Not sure if that's enough gas to dispense 4 gallons of liquid, though.

And done. RGA number in hand. I'll ship it out today or tomorrow.
Wouldn't the gas make the spray kind of spitty?
Earthway makes a wheeled sprayer with no battery and no pumping (the wheels pump it) and it gets great reviews. I'm not paying $500 for a sprayer, though.

The UPS lady dropped off the battery powered backpack sprayer that ericaulon referenced; I wasn't supposed to see it as it was/is a father's day gift.

What's the model number of the sprayer you're not getting?

Sweet! I am pretty confident you will love yours--especially if you get a 2 or 3 nozzle boom. I just unloaded a tankful of iron and phosphite to my front and hellstrip in no time flat today.

I'm going to stick with the one-nozzle (although I might get a dual setup, 3 is too wide)., I've got so many weird shapes that it gets me a bit scared. Moving quick I can do the entire property with my solo sprayer in about 25 minutes (I'll time it as iron is going down tomorrow morning).
Where could I get a compatible 2 nozzle head for that?

How? We have about the same area, and it takes me 3 hours to do a complete job with the sprayer.
I'm very careful to limit my solution--not a requirement!--to about 1.3%, or 5 ounces ferrous sulfate in 3 gallons water (plus about 4 oz ammonium sulfate thrown in there too). It does, however, severely limit burn potential as distribution on the blade is very even and I spray to run-off.
It also requires seven three-gallon loads to do 7,000 square feet.

Re: Fimco Battery Sprayer LG-8-P Review
I'm doing it at a higher concentrate. With my solo 4 gallon at a fine mist I can cover 6,000 sq. ft. with 2-3 gallons. If I play around with the nozzle I can dramatically change it so that same sprayer would need about 3 loads. Your method is probably better, I just don't have the patience/time, etc. And most of my property is a hill, so it becomes a real drag going up and down so much.

Re: Fimco Battery Sprayer LG-8-P Review
Wow morph. 3gal per 1000 is definitely better at coating the leaves but I for sure don't want to take 3 hours to do that! For my 15k, that would be 6 hours of spraying!!!
JG, I am not sure about the fittings. I think the 2 nozzle solo will fit. It has been a while but when I got the 3 nozzle, I must have stretched the plastic on to boom because it wouldn't tighten very tight without releasing. I ended up getting brass adapters for both my electric backpacks and the two booms and epoxied the ones on the booms so they wouldn't loosen.
Here is a pic of the 2 booms for comparison and of the connectors.

I got the Solo boom for cheap on Ebay but regular price is around $40-45 IIRC. I have my backpack calibrated to about 4 gal per 5000sqft--mainly because I don't want do load up the backpack more than 3 times for one application.
